Blackstratblues - Bombay Rain

Blackstratblues is an instrumental project led by Stratocaster-wielding guitarist Warren Mendonsa. His compositions are diverse arrangements that evoke a range of emotions.

He develops a song’s central melody with a refined vocabulary of blues guitar techniques without much noodling.

One such evocative composition by him is Bombay Rain. Rain has always been a popular subject to compose about in music. The monsoon is a welcome relief from hot summers and is also accompanied by an atmosphere of melancholy and reflection.

Mendonsa conveys the intensity and contemplative ambiance of a Bombay rainstorm with uniquely crafted guitar passages. With every lick and bend he plays, he creates vivid imagery to immerse the listener.

This song is a monsoon staple for me, to be enjoyed in quiet meditation next to a rainy window. It is an emotional and sensational experience encapsulated in a guitar solo.
